Default Possible comfort module problem

Okay, so i had a nice puddle on the drivers side floor and i wish not to remind my self how it got there. Sopped up the puddle and put the battery into the car. Once the terminals made contact the parking lights and and dashboard lit up and the ignition bell sounded. Mind you there was no key in the car. If i remember correctly the electronics in the car worked as far as windows radio seats, etc.. BUT the car will not start. Not even turn over. Audi told me it may be the module under floor. Now is this a procedure i can replace myself or does it need programming also?

Just asking, was the headlight switch off when you powered-up the terminals?
Could rule out one issue if so.
