Default Programming remote options?

A previous post referenced a link that purports that the remote can be programmed to close windows&sunroof upon pressing the lock button. Is this true? If so, why isn't it programmed that way directly from the factory? Will Audi service do it upon request?

Default Re: Yes it's true. Audi does not reccomend dealers code

the remote because of liability issues. There is a bulletin warning dealers not to code the remote.

Some dealers are friendly and others are not.

Just have to ask. My dealer, Commonwealth VW/Audi did it for me but, they knew me from before.

Any options other than dealers for coding the remote?

Default Mine already does this.

I didn't ask the dealer, it just came with this feature and I assumed that all remotes worked this way. Try this to be sure; press the lock button on the remote and HOLD it for a few seconds. Mine won't close the windows and roof immediately but if I hold it for a good solid second or two, they'll then start to close (and I have to hold until they close completely).

Good luck.

If you post the area you live in, someone might be nearby with a VAG-COM tool. You could arrange to meet somewhere (buy them lunch?) and have it done in 10 minutes.

You might try posting on the S4 board also as more of those guys are likely to have access to one.

Default You can get them to change your programming...

there is actually a service bulletin that states that altering the code is done for free once during the warranty period. Here is a link to the codes.<ul><li><a href="https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec36.shtml">https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec36.shtml</a</li></ul>

What are the standard functions on the remote as it comes from the factory?
