Default Projected RS6 Delivery Timeline, Navi Plus...

...heard this morning the following...for what it's worth:

A8, RS6, S4 sedan and avant will be here and on the ground in JULY of this year. Orders for first cars to be taken in March/April time frame. Order guides are currently in the mail to dealers nationwide.

Navi Plus is PROBABLE for the S4, and possible for RS6 (dash will need slight redesign to accomadate).

Default Huh? Are you suggesting it may come as an option? or aftermarket?

Because it won't come from the factory that way...no way at all...but the Avalon guys can probably retrofit one in there. (RS 6 I mean)

Or it could be the new DVD based version Audi is moving to (as seen on the new A8)

Default I'M not suggesting a thing here, Fin. Merely reporting...

...some info. that the NA buyers passed along to one of my largest suppliers. Yes, that the Navi Plus systems for each of the cars that receive them will in fact be factory systems. Hope to have additional documentation in hand (expanding on these tidbits and other related detail) sometime this afternoon.

Default The centre console has interchanagable parts to adjust the height

For either single DIN height (Audi units are always slightly wider than standard DIN sized units), double-height (like the in-dash 6cd unit) and Nav+ height units. The lower sets of controls get shoved a bit further down on the deeper units.

I'll take pics of the RS6 console to show you to compare against the Concert I had in my A6 and update the thread tomorrow;

Default RS6 / A6 : Nav+ / Concert console layout comparison

It's not terribly easy to see in this picture, but the A6 with Concert has a plastic filler piece with cutouts
for the Concert and AC controls,with Nav+ fitted the AC controls fit lower down and the plastic filler is
discarded. The Nav+ unit's front panel is shaped to fit in the console - I guess they must be interchangable fronts.
