Question about projector HID headlights....

Question about projector HID headlights....
Does the small dots that fo around the projestors have a purpose? My HID's don't but I saw a headlight at the dealer with them. Looks like the one on the pic below. DO they light up? (trying to be angel eyes maybe)

No. there are just a couple different styles
They apparently are selected at random. My car had two different styles on it for a while because I had one headlight replaced.
All the styles appear to have the same part # (at least that is what the dealer said).
