Default Question for those who have changed their own brake pads ( to non-OEM): did you recieve

NEW bolts with your replacement pads? I'll be replacing my rear pads soon (probably go with Mintex) and need to know if the bolts come with the pads, or if I should order a set of bolts from the dealer.

Thanks,

Jeff

No. Are the bolts supposed to be replaced at pad replacement?

Default Use a 6 point socket and a lot of pressure to avoid stripping. These are not stretch bolts, so

reuse should be fine.

Default You might consider using loctite medium/blue.

look on the bolt threads you take out...if there is a colored bit of stuff on the threads chances are they were precoated with an adhesive. The adhesive is only rated for one use so you'll have to replace it.

FWIW, I've never heard of these bolts backing out if they're properly torqued, so YMMV.

Bentley manual says to replace them. Other owners apparently have not done so (see above).

Default Interesting, I had the dealer replace my stock S6 brake pads with Mintex pads...

at all four corners and nothing shows on the invoice for new bolts. They did void my brake warranty though
Maybe the bolt replacement is model specific?

Interesting indeed! Does NE1 here know if brakes on S6 and 2.7T are same?
