Default Radio Removal Issues

Kind of new to the forum and need some help. So far I have gotten a lot of info here, so thanks to all. I got some audio keys for my 01 2.7T to take out the radio. The right hand side of the deck will come out slightly, but the left side won't release. Has anyone had issues with the audio keys and deck removal. If yes are there any tricks to removal. I checked out some of the articles on blitzsafe installs, but can't get anything to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default it can be tricky..

you want to make sure the keys are point "in" on both sides...

|\ (right side) /| (left side)

like that if that makes sense. They'll need to click in place and shouldn't let go until the radio is removed and you've depressed the tab on the side in to release it.

Default Strong fingers help

I had to grip the bottom edge of the radio with the tips of my fingers and wiggle it out. I used one hand to pull lightly on each key (on one side) while using the other hand's fingers to pull on that side of the radio. I alternated pulling on both sides and made a little progress on each side.

Make sure you hear a click when you insert each of the keys.

don't pull on the keys to remove the radio... stick your fingers in the cassette slot and pull

Default What kind of keys do you have

The porsche-style keys (round ends) unlocked one end of my radio but not the other. Keys got stuck (major PITA). It turns out that the Audi keys are thicker than the Porsche version.

If your keys don't look like T10057 in the link, you'll probably have trouble. My advice? Get the dealer to unlock or get the keys at the link.

Don't keep trying and scar up your radio if you don't have the right ones.
