Default Rear view mirror removal

Hi,
anyone taken their exterior rear view mirror's off for replacement? I've got the Bentley CD and it looks like mirror glass is just held in place by the friction spring on the outer vertical edge. Is there more to removing this?? or does the mirror simply 'pop-off'? It appears that the mirror has separated from the back mounting and now flutters when in flight...! Anyone who's removed one and may have some 'non-manual' tips are greatly appreciated. thx,
jk

Default Have some jackass cut you off and drive into a construction barrel; worked for me!

I think it does just pop out, and is held in with an array of plastic tabs. I need to look into mine and see what's broken; the horizontal adjustment isn't working and the mirror flops left to right when touched.

Sure! Do you need replacement mirrors, too?

Default Re: Possibly....

I'm goin to see if I can 'repair' my mirror...it's just the backing that is off of it (the passenger mirror), allowing it to drop and not be responsive to the motor movement. It's not cracked/broken or anything. I have a bead on one for half of what audi quoted me...possibly, if it's still available....do you have a passenger for an A6, 2000. heated/auto darkening mirror? if so, what are you asking, where are you located....thx!
