Remote Starter question

I just spoke with a local install shop and they tell me there is no way to get a remote starter to work on the A6 2.7t..
is that true?

Chipped Key

Are the current A6 "keyed" like the bmws, etc where they have the transponder key setup.

A buddy of mine had remote starter on his M5, and it was such a intricate setup. He actually had a spare key (not the valet, but one of the master keys) in a special device that the remote starter used in order to start the car. The box the contained the key was "hidden" somewhere in the car to deter theft.......
