thanks - I'll check it out. Did you happen to be in anywhere in the Stuttgart area? I'm also thinking about taking a lap on the Nurburgring. Do you happen to know if that's something you can do with a rental?

Default Yes, the ring is a public toll road. You can take any street legal auto there.

be careful of the times you go to the ring though, If I recall correctly, the ring is shut down in late Jan. early Feb. for maintenance and investigation. I was all over Stuttgart, it's a great walking town. Porsche Facility is in Stuttgart but may also closed for a bit in Jan, Feb, as well. Go see the Mercedes Museum tour as well, it's all types and brands of the Auto as history, not just MB cars. Take the car up into the hills and go to the TV tower lookout as you can see the whole valley from the top.

http://www.roadandtravel.com/travel%20directory/ravereviews/mercedeshistorygermany.htm</a

lots of good ideas - thanks for the info. Just out of curiosity, what airport is close to that area? I haven't study the maps yet, and have no idea how far the 'ring is from stuttgart, or where I should fly in to see these things.

thanks

Default You must see the audi museum and factory in Ingolstadt. Try to schedule an English speaking tour

Call Karen at Audi Club North America to help you schedule it. well worth the experiance and the museum shop is kick *** for audi enthusiast stuff!
