Default Replaced the powersteering pump in the S6 today.

Last month a powersteering line wore through, where it had been rubbing against an engine mount, and blew out all the fluid. I called the dealer and they said 'just bring it in' (I was only 5 minutes away). They replaced the line and refilled the fluid, and called it good. Last week when I was in for an oil change, I had them look at the system again, as I was getting a little powersteering pump noise while turning. They said, 'the fluid was just a hair low, but the pump looked fine, and we didn't see any leaks'. This Sunday I went for an all-day drive in mountains (about 930 miles), and I started hearing the pump again in the corners, and the fluid level was fine. So today I took it by again to have the dealer look at it, and they decided to just pull the pump out and replace it. This is the fourth physical car component to fail, and require replacement, since I took delivery on the S6 last April. (Thank God for warranteed service.)

Default Ahh, 4 times is nothin'...

just kidding...sounds like the first time there was a problem it problem damaged the pump. Good thing you've gotten it done now.
Only 1 significant problem with the S6 (coil pack)...the rest has been pretty minor (oxygen sensor and warped rotors...nothing big)...

Default Yikes, I've had my car since Nov. 10th and just broke 2,100 miles...I've gotta

get out there more! The 0.4 mi commute doesn't help (in fact is probably bad if I don't drive in circles 'round the neighborhood to get everything warmed up...
