Default I dont think taking off the resonators on a 2.8 will make much of a difference

in the way it sounds. I would just keep em on and get your exhaust/tips put on. Better yet, just go trade up for a 2.7t or 4.2 if you want more power. Its better than trying to get more power out of the 2.8 because that wont happen unless you add forced induction...

Default there have been numerous posts about removing the stock resonators on the 2.7T

and it seems to be worth the $60 or whatever... although a doubt you will get any power out of 2.8. Also, no just removing the resonator will not make your car sound annoying infact from what ive read you probably wont hear much at all, maybe a little rumble under WOT. its a fairly cheap mod thats good for maybe 3-5hp with a 2.7T and i would guess less than that for the 2.8. just stick with tips if you only care about looks.

To sum it all up for the 2.8... for sound replace mufflers, removing resonators will probably result in no gain, tips for looks, and unfortunatly theres really nothing you can do (exhaust-wise) for power
