Rough engine
I'm new to that forum and would like to say hi to everybody. I'm from Germany but me and my family have been living in Michigan since 2005. Like most of the germans here in our area I work for the automotive industry as an engineere and we truly enjoy the experience to live in the US.
Now my question, we replaced a couple weeks ago my wifes Grand Cherokee HEMI with a used 2004 Audi Avant 3.0 quattro. I got this vehicle from an Audi dealer, first owner, no accidents, all scheduled maintance, nearly all option except factory navigation, with 42.000 miles on it for less than 15.000$. I thought that this is not to bad since the vehicle is in a really good condition with silver paint and black leather.
My question is now related to the engine noise. We also own a Mercedes CLK 350 which also has a V6 engine. If I compare the engine to the Audi the Mercedes is a lot smoother. The Audi vibrates a little at idle speed and never sounds and feels really silk and smooth. I would say it almost sound like a direct injection engine which is usually a little louder. Does anybody else has the same experience or is it possible that there is something wrong with the engine.
Thank's for an answer, and I wish you guys always a wrinklefree drive (free translated from german into english :-)).
