Default "Quantified performance includes a 0-100 km/h time in the high sixes, a standing 400 metres in...."

the high fourteens".

Anybody see a problem with these numbers?

Default I do!!! This is more of a impression review than a real test. This particular

article has been around since June 01 and all they did is to quote the factory figures which have been proven over and over to be pesimistic.

Top Gear UK 0-60 mph 6.2 sec S6 Avant
Car & Driver 0-60 mph 6.2 sec (???) S6 Avant
Track Challenge Germany 0-100 km/h 6.4 sec S6 Sedan
Car Magazine S. Africa 0-100 km/h 6.4 sec S6 Sedan

AutoSpeed says <i>"The best car that we have ever driven"</i> Wonder what other cars they have driven? Amongst the best? maybe. To claim it is the best... Hmmmm

Great numbers. However, aren't there modified 2.7T/Tips doing a little better out there?

Since you know more than anybody about the S6, I'll take your word for it. :-)

Which ones can't be matched?

Never mind the 0-60 times -- what about no seat memories... :-)

Default Drove an S6 and it is very hard to tell the difference from the 4.2. ...

I thnk the S6 is sold in the US more for exclusivity and a v8 wagon than anything. I was disappointed.

Default Hmmm... I drive a 2001 4.2, and the S6 was a distinct step up....

Perhaps you drove under poor conditions: at altitude, or a car that wasn't broken in, or perhaps you forgot to try the sport mode on the tiptronics.

I found suspension, steering, power, handling, all improved (though not enough to talk someone out of their budget... the 4.2 is more than plenty good in these areas).

My reports are here: <A HREF="https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/101935.phtml">S6 test drives, see links</A>.
