Default Selling a high mileage 2000 2.7t manual

Folks,

It has been a long time since is scoured the boards and I am looking to picking up a CPO 2011 A6 and will be looking to get rid of my current car and am looking for some opinions on pricing and a view of the market. I have not spoke with the dealer yeat about a trade.

I have a 2000 A.6 2.7 with manual, bose and sports package. I have also swapped out for a lowered suspension. I currently have 188000 miles and most of which is all highway as I commute 55 miles each why to Boston.

I am looking at KBB and they value the car at around $9000 for a trade in good condition. Is this a realistic number in people's opinion? I thought the sports package (seats primarily) and the 6speed manual would make it a desirable car to sell but I am concerned about the mileage number.

In addition, any tips on negotiating on CPO cars at a dealer is appreciated.

Warren

Sounds like a heckuva trade in if you can get it. A 2K 2.7T 6MT is probably about $3500 with that kind of mileage on it.

Autos aol.com has $4,985 - $6,360 blue book private party.
Yahoo autos has Retail Value
$4,443 NATIONAL AVERAGE
for vehicle in good condition, based on 132000 miles

Like I say, if you could get $3500 from a private party you'd be doing well.

Take the trade in once you've established the price of the new or CPO car.

Best way to negotiate CPO with the dealer is to figure out YOUR price and don't deviate from it.
If you cannot get it, just walk away.

You HAVE to be willing to walk away (leave your phone number or email) to get a better price.

I walked away from a cherry S8 (105K MSRP new!) not because of the 65K asking price; it only had 20K miles on it!

They were completely unreasonable on the M3 cabrio trade-in...over $10K below what the low-mileage car brings on the private market. Two weeks later I got a phone call that maybe they would reevaluate the trade-in....I said thanks but no thanks.
