Slight vibration when turning the wheel AND pulling away from a dead stop.
I'm the getting vibe under light and moderate acceleration, when the wheels are turned. It seems to be coming from the rear and is very slight, once the I'm around a corner or the wheels straighten out, things smooth out as well. Does not happen at speed when going around a corner. Any initial thoughts on something to look for? This is my new to me 99' 2.8 Avant we finally just picked up. Love the car, these C5's are so damn nice.

Does the LandCruiser have a Torsen central diff? That is the source.
and considering its absolute superiority in performance its worth the odd vibration.
BTW the Torsen also has a resonance at 35-40 mph.

Nope, the Cruiser is different and you are actually able to lock it, makes a nice step off-road.
Thanks for the info on my new Audi, happy to hear it's nothing to worry about.

The advantage of the torsen diff in the Audi is :
Its purely mechanical in principle, and is full time. It proportions torque between front and rear wheels. This has the effect of modifying the car's understeer behaviour, so that the A6 understeers less than would be expected, from a car of its size and weight distribution, if it was front wheel drive or part time 4 wheel drive.
The main disadvantage of the Torsen diff is its high cost, hence the reason most companies try to get away with cheaper solutions like Haldex and electronic clutches.
