Default some help please i have a 2000 2.7T and the car squeals very loudly while moving/driving

and is becoming more prominent but stepping on the brakes makes the squeal disappear. I looked at the brake pads they look pretty good.

Anyone, have similar experiences or noises? What is fixes this problem.

I'm thinking about just having the brakes replaced but if it's something else I don't want to waste my funds if it doesn't make the squeal go away.

Default stuck caliper, or foreign object in the pad

does it sound different if you are turning one way or the other?

If they are fairly recent I had a rear pad installed "WRONG"...caused lots of noise & brake dust

Default sounds the same but sometimes turning causes it to squeal as well but stepping on the brakes makes

it go away...I'm a little confused as it's usually the other way around when the brakes are low there is a constant squeal.

Default I agree with 2.7T Longhorn - probably a stuck caliper. Check your rear calipers by

applying the hand brake (while you are moving and the brakes are squeelng) and seeing if that stops the squeeling. If it does, you know one of your rears is dragging. The you just need to figure out left vs. right side.

I had this happen on my MY 2000 2.7T - the driver's side rear caliper was hung up. Some cleaning and application of anti-seize compound on the sliding surfaces took car of the problem.
