Last weekend in an assuredly "safe" neighborhood in s.f., one of the four cover plates (containing the locking cylinder) to my Votex roof rack (for my silver a6) was stolen... the passive voice belies my frustration, because only several weeks ago, someone vandalized (read scratched) the rear right quarter panel (talk about breaking a MY2001 in!).

so, after inquiring with my local audi parts and service representative, i find out that replacing the individual part or replacing the entire set of four plates + locking cylinders is not possible. turns out that the entire roof rack assy kit has to be ordered

my question to you guys is , anyone out there with a spare locking plate? anyone know of another alternative?
