Default Sports Package and Large Men

Can you get the 2.7T w/the sports package minus the sport seats? Drove the car w/PSK this weekend and loved the car but my 6'5" 250lb body did not fit in the sport seats. My sides are still sore!

Default Wish I could have too instead of getting the non-sport for same reason. Choices are limited: (more)

Either get the stock suspension and upgrade via swaybar, springs and/or shocks, or see if you can talk a dealer into swapping in non-sport seats in a sport suspension equipped car.

Default I'm 6'3" and 270 lbs and.....

did go ahead and lease a 2.7T about 9 months ago with the sports package. At first, the sport seats were not the most "laterally comfortable" seats in the world, but in a short period of time (about 1-2 months) the bolsters seemed to "expand" to fit my frame more comfortably while still giving enough support to keep me in place during turns etc.

So, there is hope. However, you may not want to put up with the "adjustment period".

Cheers,
Mitch

Default Slightly uncomfortable but worth it (6'2"/230lb)...

I would not buy the car with standard suspension (4.2 in my case).

The seats are a bit narrow on the sides and thighs. I find two adjuents help: increase the lumbar support, moving it high. Also, lower the front of the seat bottom so that my thighs near the knees are a bit raised.

I expect it will break in a bit (only one month so far). Also, I plan to lose 40 pounds!

The standard seats are certainly very good and comfortable, but they pale visually compared to the sport seats.

Default Variance with interior color

I don't know about the sport seats, but believe it or not, with the non-sport seats, the sizing (particularly leg room / headroom) varies measurably based on the interior color! I realize this really makes no sense, but I actually measured several. At 6'2", I pay close attention to these issues - when I test drove prior to buying, plenty of room! When I got my ordered card, a tight squeeze. Dealer thought I was nuts - until we both went around the lot measuring multiple vehicles. So, before you make a decision, try to find a vehicle with the specific interior color you want. (Again, I know this applies to the standard seats, but do NOT know if it applies to the sports seats.)

Default This may seem like a small point (pun intended), but ...

the seats make a really BIG (again intended) difference in how much you like your car. If you've got a great car but lousy seats, then you've got a lousy car.

I had the sport seats in my A4, and when the lease was up the wife and I decided that for a daily driver the seats were too much to put up with (in our case, too hard and unyielding), so back it went. And we are both small, slender people.
