My 4.2 has been making some noise when the wheel is completly turned one way or the other for a year or so. I know the owner's manual says not to do that and the dealer says the noise is normal. Does anyone else have this? Comments pls.

They just replaced the steering box and tie rod ends on mine @ 36k miles.

What was wrong with it. Was it just noisy?

Had a squeaking noise when I turned the wheel, took it to my dealer, and they are going to replace my steering column. 20K miles and so far, new tranny, new brakes & pads, now the steering column, but the car drives swell. Soon I will have all new parts <yippee>. It is a 2001 2.7T.
