Be still my beating heart [long]
Wow... three amazing things to share with everyone...
1) Picked up our new Casablanca White A6 2.8Q 10 days ago. What an amazing car! Sure, it's no 2.7T, but it gets me and the wife around very nicely. Beautiful car; heck of a step up from a Nissan 240SX. :-)
2) Have received great service from our salesman, both before and after the sale. We originally ordered a 2000 model back in February, but ended up with a 2001 model due to dealer allocations. However, our salesman kept the final price as originally negotiated despite the model year increase in price and the addition of Xenons; very cool!
As far as after sales service, the car arrived with a missing nozzle, but the wife wanted to pick the car up right away instead of waiting for the part to come in (can you blame her?!). So, we arranged with the dealership to pick up the car and drop it off a few days later to have the part taken care of. Well, after a rather shaky start of a relationship with the dealership's service department (they kept the car for 2 days and didn't fix the problem), we called our salesman and asked him if he'd address the issue. He personally came and picked the car up from my wife's work this morning, and brought the car back (work completed) this afternoon. I felt that was tremendous follow-through on his part.
So, if you guys are looking for a good sales experience, we were quite happy with Otis Griffin at Rector Motors. Of course, your mileage may vary, but he's done well by us! The jury's still out on the service department, however...
And if you're still with me, the third thing...
3) I heard my baby's heartbeat for the first time! And I'm not talking about the new A6, either... :-)
Cheerio!

Re: Be still my beating heart [long]
I should remember that not everyone is from the San Francisco Bay Area... :-)
That's Rector Motors in Burlingame, CA for those who were curious.
OK, back to your regularly scheduled forum reading...

I'm also impressed with Rector.
I dealt with David Leibenson, and he's terrific. I've also heard good things from others about Otis.
Welcome, Doug, and congrats on all counts!<p>mpuzach

To some, he is like Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama, and George Zimmer all rolled up into one...)
However, to others he is the leader of the fastest growing regional cult dedicated to the overthrow of conventional auto dealers by force. His minions are growing and are permeating all facets of life in the Bay Area. They are hard to identify except when in the presence of APR exhaust-equipped S4s when a glassy-eyed stare overtakes them.
