Default TCM question.. Please help

Hello To all
Just joined forum and have a quick question regarding TCM issue with 2002 Audi A6 2.7T
I recently bought a used TCM which I was told came from a working audi. Numbers on TCM match perfect to mine. My question is.. I received the TCM last night I installed it, and it seemed to work for about half a second After half a second the dashboard lite up in red again, and the car would not chagne in to first gear.. My question is Do I have to flash it to my car or should it work when I plugged it in since it was already on another used Audi?

Have you try to clear out the error code first?

My original TCM was damaged due to water coming in from the fire wall because of clogged drains.. I had a concern about having to flash the TCM since it was coming used from another Audi when I bought it.. Now its working perfect.. it was jsut plug and play..

no, just lets me know that you dont know how to keep your drains unclogged. an issue ive had on cars if owned dating back to the early 90s...... dont park under trees and always clean the drains.

Most Audi dealers in my area has $59.00 Specials to clear the drain pipes just to prevent the overflow, flooding inside car.
