Tech Days of summer...
several of us got together Saturday to do some "tech" stuff to our Audi's. thought i would share.
in attendance were jeff - silver streakin, raj - RKA, skip w/ his TT and myself, tools and garage...
first we embarked on a special wiring setup to allow jeff to independently control his city lights on the Euro housings.
this install incorporated a special adaptation of the S4 ESP switch. therefore it's nicely integrated into his center console.
the wiring...

then Raj, never one to turn down a good technical challenge, assisted Skip in re-routing his wiring for his subwoofer...

Can you elaborate about the "black box"? I assume it holds your relay, 'cause the ESP switch is...
... a momentary switch, yes? I see it is a Radio Shack product... I should've guessed they'd have something for this purpose.
I have a spare switch for my dash to use for switching the servotronic steering in and out. So I need a relay for the momentary switch to toggle in and out.

yes...
it's a radio shack relay... 10amp 12v DPDT
if you are interested in the wiring diagram i can post it for you this evening.
we encountered one issue that i am following up on. there is nothing to actually break the closure of the relay after you hit the switch...i.e., the city lights can't be turned off.
i will either need to add a second switch or figure out an alternative to wiring the relay.
