Default Timing Belt

Anyone know a good Audi mechanic in the Northern NJ area that can do a timing belt job on a 2001 a6? I will be purchasing the kit from Blauparts I just need someone to do the labor.

Let the shop you chose supply the parts. That way, if there is an issue down the line, they will stand behind it. If you supply the parts and the belt breaks the next day, they will blame your parts and Blau will blame the installation.

Also, be sure you get *all* the parts you need to do the whole job. Do not skip the cam seals, cam adjuster seals, or cam plugs.

For a shop, try the regional forums if they aren't tumbleweed city these days.

x2, it becomes he said she said. whats even worse, i brought my car into a shop to get the slave cylinder on the trasmission replaced. they did it but it didnt fix the car, needed clutch, they charged my 600 for the slave and wanted 3750 for the clutch. granted these guys were my "dads reccommended shop" had never even seen an audi quarttro system and had no clue what they were doing. so i decided to take it to a local shop where i was good friends with their lead machanic. charged me 1900 for the clutch and found out they installed the slave cylinder wrong and broke it. long story short i was out 600 because the shop that had never worked on a quattro trasnmission before(what they actually told me) blamed it on the shop that had just replaced and rebuilt two s4 2.7t 6spd transmissions. go figure :P
