TipChip / TCU upgrade available for '03 A6 2.7t tip?
I just heard that a TCU upgrade might be available for 2003 A6 2.7t Tiptronic. However, I suspect that it's not available for `03, but instead `02's and `01's. Neither GIAC nor AWE appears to offer a tipchip upgrade for the `03 so if one exists can I get a URL for them?

What kind of results are you looking for out of the upgrade? I had the GIAC Tip Chip put into my 02 2.7T and had it removed because I didn't notice any changes whatsoever.

none at all really?
I was expecting smoother and quicker shifting of the gears. Maybe holding the gears longer, increasing 1st gear shifting past 2k rpm, and hopefully downshifting when braking instead of when I accelerate again. Basically I want the transmission to be more responsive and if that could be done then my thought was a faster 1/4 mile.
You didn't like the tip chip huh? Even after having installed it...strange. Maybe that's why they aren't being marketed that heavy. Did you see any changes at all or just none that made it worth the money? Do you have a "sport" mode on your gear shift just below the drive gear? I assume you use manual mode instead of drive mode when you're looking to zip and zoom?
One more thing...do you have a sweet spot on your accelerator that's requires you to press real firm on the peddle to get full throttle? I have a little extra peddle that when I mash down heavy the engine redlines immediately. It's not a broken or misaligned peddle but more like a safety feature where you have to make a conscious effort to get full throttle. In drive this extra peddle movement really drives the RPM's up.

Re: none at all really?
None. I previously had a 2000 A4 2.8 Tip w/ the PES Supercharger. For that, I had the tip chip and loved it. The delay in the shifts was brutal and the reduction in that delay from the tip chip made a huge amount of difference and made driving a lot more fun. So, I was expecting the same with my 2002 A6, but realized that the delay with the stock program wasn't bad and the tip chip didn't change it at all. Also, as you said, my 2002 has a sport mode, which is a good program for driving more aggressively. So, basically, the tip chip did nothing, as I said. I was surprised too, since I had really liked it in my A4, but apparently Audi figured it out for themselves and programmed it into oem by 2002.

Talk to VAST. I've been working with them for awhile on an S6 tip chip and Kurt tells me...
that they've done other Tip chips for the A6. My S6 TCU chip in in the mail as we speak. Should be sweet.
