tire change
Any one know what size the lugg nuts are on my 2001 A6. Should I use torque wrench when changing the tires? What is the proper torque?
How about jack position for a hydraulic floor jack.
Will the stock wheels from an S4 fit? Will I have to re-align?
Thanks much!

Re: tire change
Lug bolts are ball seat type, M14 x 1.5 (thread designation x thread pitch in mm). The head is a 17mm hex. You should always use a torque wrench. 90 ft-lbs per the owners manual.
Not sure about floor jack interface to lift point on A6.
S4 wheels will fit. You shouldn't have to re-align.

I found that the stock A6 jack is quite stable (long)...
so long as you have the emergency brake on. I put on my winter tires two weeks ago without incident. Just follow the directions in the manual.
Also, Tirerack recommends re-torquing the wheel bolts after initially running the wheels for 75-100 miles. I did and found that a few of the bolts had slightly loosened since the initial torquing.
Lastly, make sure that you have the proper bolts for the new wheels. There are at least three different kinds of seats on wheel bolt that are a function of the bolt holes on the wheels. It's important that the seats on the bolts mate properly with the wheels. Tirerack ships the proper bolts with the wheels that they sell. I understand that Audi typically uses the same bolt seating type for all of its wheels. So installing Audi OEM wheels should use the same bolts from application to application.
