Default Tire Wear and Separation

I have had a repeated problem with irregular wear with my front tires leading to separation and evenutally destruction of the tire. I have a 2001 a6 2.7T with Oettinger RE 17"x8 with Bridgestone RE730 235 45 17. A year ago and then also yesterday, I had failure of my right front tire due to a very irregular wear pattern at the inside edge and then a puncture in this area. I will post a picture later today. The left front tire has shown similar wear but not as pronounced.

Has anyone had a similar problem?
Does anyone else with a similar wheel and tire setup have a recommendation for replacement tires?
Any ideas as to why the right side seems more effected than left?

Default Another Thing

Car was in for service last week and received a 4 wheel alignment. One would think that the service technician would have picked up on the tire wear?? I was at the dealership for 7 hours and the car was on the lift for at least 4 hours for an oil change and replacement of rear tie rods. Shouldn't they inspect tires and suspension during a normal service??

When I called the service department this morning, the service advisor was not at all helpful in trying to determine whether the wear was present last week and wouldn't take any responsibility (or apologize) for missing such obvious wear.

Default I can't imagine massive wear in one week........

...it had to have been there last week when they did the alignment. The paper they gave you with the alignment will show before and after values - if the alignment was off a lot then it can easily cause major tire wear - but prolly not in a week, unless you put a couple of thousand miles on the tires during that time......

I'd speak to the GM about this obvious oversight - any service should include a visual inspection of the tires and you can't do an alignment without getting up close and personal with the front tires

Sounds like either a camber adjustment or the front toe-in is wrong.
