does that seem high? I went to central service garage in natick, nice guys but while doing a search many people on the forum are always saying find an indy shop...but I don't think I really saved any money going this route...I think Ira Audi quoted about the same for a cv boot replacement...I just had an impression in my head that the cv boot would take only about an hour or hour and a half tops but 2.4 hrs...anyways, I had the service done because of convience rather then taking it up to the dealer and wasting another couple hours out of my day to drive it up and back down etc.
any thoughts?

That's not a bad price....and not a great one either. I think Boston Driver had his done for
~$150 somewhere near Natick; on the other end of the spectrum you can see what dealer prices are over $300.
Having just done one of mine (and by that I mean with my own hands) I can say I am amazed that any shop would charge less than $200 for this job.
