Is the tranny fluid for A6's lifetime like in the BMWs or not?

There is no such thing as "lifetime fluid"...
even though the manual says no service it should be done at least every 100k.
The A8 forum members did alot of work on this subject. The fluid is only the lifetime of the transmission, not the car!

Roger that, I have heard about issues with changing>
fluid and then tranny slipping, but I wanted to check. Not that I am looking for a 100K car, just want to know the consensus. Thanks Rally!

Let's put it this way.....
If the fluid is "lifetime" is not really the issue.
The tranny fluid filter needs to be changed (like any filter) and to do this requires draining the tranny fluid.
