Turbos for the future A6!!!!
A couple of articles I have read this last week in European mags including Autocar 7th October suggest that we will see Turbos in future models. Apparantly Audi is going the FSI route on most engines in 1/2 years and will offer Turbo models. The S3/RS3 will get a 3.2 turbo of 300hp and I saw that the A6 may get a turbo version. The TT will also get this engine for a TT RS model. It kind of makes sense with all Audi's turbo experience including the turbo diesels.
A6 launch is slated for March at Geneva!

Sounds awesome!
Will the twin turbos be reserved for Audi's future RS models with non RS models getting single turbos? When you said "Apparently Audi is going the FSI route on most engines in 1/2 years and will offer turbo models", would that be 1 1/2 years or 2 1/2 years? Whatever the case will be, I just hope that all versions of the new A6 are the significant improvement in every conceiveable way over all versions of the current A6 that Audi promises the new A6 will be.

That would be a wise move for them IMHO. Hopefully they will nail it this time.
I think the 2.7T was an ok motor, but I hope they one up it and in something more affordable than the RS6 or RS4.

Any idea what the A6 interior will look like?
I currently have a 2000 BMW540 and I don't like the new E60/5 series interiors so I'm hoping to move over to a 2005 Audi A6 4.2 late next year. The current Audi interiors are beautiful.
I just hope that Audi does not make the same mistake that BMW just made.

Audi interiors were great 12 years ago, and have changed VERY gradually.
Audi has the formula just right. They would not be so stupid as to make radical changes. (Would they?)

If the new A8 is any indication, we can expect the standard to be maintained.
However, if the A6 is going to lead the product line in its new direction, we may see bolder steps in the interior design as well as the 'shield' grille we are hearing about.
I'd like to think Audi can be a leader in design without making BMW's mistakes. We'll find out in March, I guess. Design was one of the main reasons we have Audis. I am hopeful that the new A6 will do nothing to change my opinion.
