Default The ulimate radar detector - built into your rearview mirror

My dealer has the Ultratech Inc. Radar detector. It is a rear view mirror with front and rear radar X, K, Ka, laser, dimming mirror and compass. It replaces your existing mirror (but you can take it to your next car). I believe it is based on the K40. My parts manager has had it intalled in his Porsche and raves about it. It certainly looks like the perfect set up, although it is expensie, I heard dealer cost is about $800.

Default Guy on Porsche board has had his V1 done like this

Too bad the K40 is Vastly inferior to the V1.

I would go with quality detector in first place. Stealth - second.

Default Here's how a V1 was done in the mirror.

Default That seems like a great idea, but Ansel Adams there never shows where the detector goes

and it's not so stealthy when you have the V1 sitting atop your dashboard connected to your $200 mirror.

Default hay goodwoody whats wrong with the K40??

I was actually planning on getting the one that is built into the dash...when i get my RS6 knock on wood. With the laser defuser also. From what they say on the website and other reviews I have gotten from car shops...that it does what it advertises. I am just looking for something hidden and no wires hanging about my car. I am assuming the valentine only comes as a mounted option. But then again nothing is going to be as reliant as a scrambler that makes the cop think that you are going whatever speed you set it at!! but TIA
