Unusual problem with interior lights
I was driving from Rochester, NY to North Jersey (4 1/2 hour drive) this past week, and about 2 1/2 hours into it I went to turn on the map light and nothing happened. Tried the main switch, and even reached back to the rear and nothing. All other instrument lights were fine, windows fine, etc.
This is the second time this has happened (oddly enough on the same trip a month back). Once the car is parked and locked/unlocked it is fine after that.
Any ideas on this one?

I know the door switches have sporatic failures, but usually it's the inverse...
...in that you can't get the int. lights to go OFF. I would imagine a loose connection (possibly a ground) somewhere. :/

I've had the same thing happen a few times....
I've learned that if I pull on the door handle, the lights work again. Very strange! It's almost as if it's related to the timing circuit that shuts off the interior lights.
It's pretty infrequent and easy to work around, so I haven't spent any time trying to chase it down. I suppose it will get worse at some point and present yet another opportunity to better know my car.

same thing here, plus power locks won't work...
happens once a month or so and is 'fixed' if i stop & open a door, or turn the key off/on. Haven't been able to tie it to any one thing, though.

This happened to me last night while sitting in the car wash. Turned the interior light on, nada
tried to unlock the doors, nada. I park, turn the car off, lights come on, and doors unlock. Weird...
