Aside for fragile turbos, 2.7 seems bulletproof.
And the turbos dont just fail. They do, however, require care that few even understand. The concept of a precise bearing spinning at many 10s of thousands of rpms, generating heat sufficient to coke any oil unless it continually flows, is beyond about 98% of the buying public it appears.
but if you change the oil, use good oil, warm up easy, and cool down, and avoid extra-stress mods, i see them going 150k, 200k and more all the time.
I know almost nothing about the 3.0. But the 2.7 is a workhorse - forged crank, think walls, under piston oil sprays, blah, blah.
