wat size winter tire for 17's on an A6?

Milles are soft, I would be skpetical about lining them with a thin 17 and running them in the
winter. I have some 225/45-17s ready for my OZ SLs. You could go with 215/50-17s, but I'd rather not give up the contact patch and they are hard to find.

You really think that 17's w/those tires will be too much wheel and not enough protection? i have 18's on my car now and have never bent one. then again i do have BBS LM's on my car 
I don't think the A1's come in a 16 for the 2.7T tho.
