What is the avg. lifespan on a set of stock 16" Mich. Pilots?
I might have a little fun running fast around some tight on-ramps every now and then but for the most part I would say my driving is "normal" - whatever that is!

I don't know. (Sorry, I felt it was important to answer after yesterday's problem.)
We've had a wide range of experiences here. Generally, quattro chews up tires faster, and these are heavy cars. Don't expect to get more than 30 or 40,000 miles.

40 & bald...my Michelins, not me!
I got to 44K on the original Contis and I drive like granny. This is discouraging to learn that this is the upper end of tire life for this car.
Any suggestions on stock replacements?
