What to do for rims read this dilema and give me your opinions
I have the silver 4.2 with pie plates, one of them is bent and they are heavy as hell. So I have been looking at alternatives but I really would like to stay at 17" rims to save money on tires and drive on the same tires year round. So I have narrowed it down to the AT Italia Razze which is an RS6 knock off, ASA ST4 which is a riveted outside lip which is supposed to be much stronger structuraly, or a Kosei rim that only weighs 15lbs each and is done in a gun metal color. It just seems to me that these cars look the best in something OE unless you go really nice like a BBS rim. Any other opinions. Trying to find a 17" rim that fits the 4.2 has been difficult.

A few thoughts...
IIRC, this is your wife's daily driver. Unless she is complaining baout the wheel weight (or style) why not just replace the one bent wheel? I ahve seen a few of them pass through ebay.
If you are looking to upgrade, and not stick with OEM (like the OEM 4.2 Sport polished 5-spoke wheels), then I would try to stick to BBS or Hartmann/Achtuning. They have some nice wheels.
In the end, you get what you pay for. Cheap price, cheap wheels, higher price, higher quality.
If I absolutely had to have 18" wheels on my car (I know, you are looking for 17s, but in my case, no good OEM 18" alternatives), I would go right to Hartmann/Achtuning.
Best of luck!

Mine? Yes, they would fit a 2000 2.7T....
They are OEM S-line/Celebration wheels that came on the B5 A4 in the Celebration package, and more recently on the A6 S-line in 2004.
They are 17x7.5" ET43 offset, and clear the HP2 brake calipers in front just fine without needing spacers. Audiusa lists them for about $325 each, but you can only buy them new from Audi dealers, who tend to jack up the price.
A few sets on AW classifieds, and ebay, used, just be aware of the condition, as these are VERY easy to scratch.

I'm in the market for 17s for my wifey's car and from much research...
over the weekend, I'm torn between two wheel styles on two different sites: Drag DR-10 from Wheelmax.com & Falken Torque 5 from Edgeracing.com (both are gunmetal). They both are relatively inexpensive at $120-$130 each.
In your case, if price is a factor, I'd look at either Wheelmax or Edgracing and since the wheels are inexpensive, I'd look into buying a 5th wheel as a full size spare. Not sure how much those wheels you mentioned cost, but hopefully they're not pricey. Yeah, I know those pie plates are heavy. I'd say any wheel about 24 lbs. or less is lightweight.
Not sure if you're open to other styles than the ones you mentioned, but if you are, check out those two sites I talked about earlier. It'll give you more ideas on other gunmetal styles out there.

I am not necessarily looking for the cheapast just ones that don't bend
as easily, and style I want to stay 17" and get a gunmetal look if possible. Hartmann doesn't make a 17" in a size that would accomodate a 255 tire.

Oh, didn't know that. The only other popular sites to check...
on the net are:
1) Tirerack.com
2) Tires.com
If it's that difficult to find 17s for a 4.2, then I don't know what other advice to give except upgrade to 18s to clear the front calipers. But you may not be willing to do that, which I understand. Oh well, I tried to help.
