Default What happens If I only replace the bad turbo?

I talked to the Warranty Company and of course he said they will not pay for a part that is not broken. As of now they will pay $1500 for one new KKK K03 turbo and about $1300 for labor. I sent him the documentation from the Bentley CD and from "The 2.7-litre V6 Biturbo Design and Function" page 23, they both state the turbos must be replaced in pairs. He said he will review it with his supervisor and get back to me. I don't think it looks to good.

Blown Turbo

Default If it comes back negative, ask to speak with the supervisor...

Ask them why they wouldn't follow manufacturer repair and replacement recommendations. Ask them if they cover damage beyond the warranty period if incurred because the turbos weren't matched. It's possible that the engine could live past the warranty but still fail because of the mismatch. And if that fails, ask them if they will call AoA to get their recommendation and then live by it. Try everything you can, it just may take some persistence.

Default I am soon to be in the same boat.

Mechanic stated that my passenger-side turbo is bad. I also have an aftermarket warranty.

If they do not replace mine in pairs, I will be taking legal action against them and I fully expect to be victorious, as I don't think they want to waste the money in court.

It is their obligation, IMHO, to accomplish repairs in accordance with manufacturer specs.

Default When the turbos on my 2000 went they said both must be replaced.

I believe the manual is very specific about the fact that the turbos must be replaced in a matched pairs.
