Default Wheels and tires.

I want to get the same wheels that are on the S6. How much would it cost to get wheels and tires that are the same on the S6? Also where can I get them? I would like to find 17 wheels and tires.

Default If you want the look of the S6 wheels...

I would suggest the S4 Avus wheels from the B5 platform, which are perfect for the A6 2.7T. They are 17x7.5" and 45mm offset. I had a set of those in the spring. More likely to find those thatn S6 rims, since many S4 owners upgraded their rims.

A pic from the not-so-distant past...

I recently replaced my 17X8, ET35 Avus rims with 18 inch BBS CHs. I was debating on a price for the set but wasn't sure about how to handle payment issues or shipping costs. I can clean up the wheels tomorow (after work) and post a pic.

The S4 rims cost $100 ea. more than the S6 rims. My insurance replaced all S4 rims w/ S6 rims. I had 10 mm spacers w/ the S4's. The S6 use a little wider tires. 235/45/17. I'm happy with them. Just get a good quiet tire. The Mich Sport Pilot is a little loud.

Yes, those are the wheels I am looking for. They also look the same on S4. How much are they?

Default I have to partially disagree

The use of ET45 wheels and 235 tires appears to be somewhat hit or miss. There are several (many?) on the board that have reported rubbing issues with trying to put on the 17" S4 Avus wheels on their cars, particularly the 2.7T. And there are probably an equal number that say they fit fine.

I personally tried the B6 Avant wheel, also ET45 17"x7.5". While they didn't rub while stationary, the clearance was SO CLOSE that I was uncomfortable with the feeling that any tire flex would cause it to rub. If the tires were wider (i.e. variations with other brands) it would have rubbed. Certainly 235 was the limit, regardless of tire.

I know that "case-by-case" doesn't make sense with today's modern manufacturing processes. AND... the sport package still comes with ET43 wheels -- 2mm doesn't sound like much to count on but I guess it's enough.

I dunno. I figure it's some combination of suspension (sport pack or not) and tire choice. But I am convinced that the best overall combo for the narrow bodies is ET35-43 (absolute limit) and 235 width tires.

The original poster should also know that 255 tires will stick out past the wheel well line, especially with the ET35 of the stock S6 Avus.

Do remember when looking at S6 wheels, you will need to run a smaller width tire in a 2.7T.

I do not care for the exact wheels and tires on the S6 I just really like the way the wheels look. I want to find wheels that look like the S4 or S6, but the width/size can be a little different.

Default Well if you score the OEM S6 Avus, they'll be perfect...

except for the 255 width tires (although I believe Potomac2.7T runs them anyway).

Boston Driver is correct, though, in that the S4 versions are easily obtained, and for relatively cheap. If you go for those, try them to see if there is adequate clearance for you.

If not, some new spacers and lug bolts will easily solve that (about another $160). Be forewarned that opinions about using spacers are more abundant and stronger than the ones about wheel choice. ;-)

Both OEMs and replicas are all over eBay and the classifieds. You know the specs now.
