Default Who here has actually driven an S6 w/ 6-sp?

Have any of our european members actually driven an S6 with a 6 speed?

How would you compare it's handling to the S4? Does it corner flatter, roll more, or about the same? Does it feel more luxury or sport oriented?

How is does it's power down low (1500-3000) compare to the 2.7t engine? Obviously no lag, but is it weak at the low end, or does it thrive there?

Default You'll have to ask Euro posters.

Just thinking logically, the turbos are controlled by rpm and the speed with which you move the throttle. Thus torque is variable. Best case is full boost/torque by about 1900rpm.

The 4.2 is much more linear. Full torque is on at about 3000rpm every time.

You can be really mellow in the 2.7t and never have your mother-in-law raise an eyebrow. A real split personality;-)

The 4.2 is less subtle. The car will never be so transparent as to let you forget you have 300 anxious hp under the hood. The sport package makes a stunning difference. Either you will love it or hate it.

The 2.7t is the tuners choice. It is slightly lighter that the 4.2. It also has the forced induction advantage at alitutde.

The V8 in the 4.2 has a great growl. Cool fenders. And a very different driving experience from the 2.7t.

The sport package 4.2 feels the flattest when cornering. This is not to say that you will generate the highest Gs in the 4.2 - just feels flatter than the 2.7t. The 2.7t is a much more precise device where speed, balance and throttle control can change the entire handling attitude. If you're good, the 2.7t will be the quickest way around a corner.
