Why is everybody except me getting their front bumper replaced under recall....
I bought my A6 Avant in January, and the front bumper has classic parking stop damage, although minor--1/2 inch gap at bottom where bumper meets fender. I took it to my dealer, and they did the recall--replaced window guides, added headlight washer clips, and lowered the pan under the engine to protect the front bumper, but did not even offer to fix the front bumper. I asked them about it, and the service manager said that even though he agreed that the damage was classic for parking stop damage, because the under side of the bumper was not deformed (just scratched), he could not authorize the recall replacement. Apparently, AOA has only agreed to cover the replacement if the are the gaps at the bumper-fender junction AND the underside of the bumper is deformed. I have talked several times with AOA and they always say that it is the dealers call. I am now waiting for the regional administrator to see my car the next time he is in Cleveland (in a few weeks) to see if he will agree to the repair. This is so annoying!!! I just want my bumper fixed like the rest of you!

so they said if the underside is deformed they will replace the bumper?
if so- yahoo for me. I was going to avoid doing the recall as it would've been pointless without the bumper being fixed...
I've seen a lot of them pulled off, I'm curious how these bumpers managedd to not deform on the underside of it just as mine did... strange.
sorry to hear about your experience.
