Will the BG intake machine w/ throttle body/intake cleaner actually clean the throttle body?

Default Will the BG intake machine w/ throttle body/intake cleaner actually clean the throttle body?
Or will it mostly clean the intake? In scouring the forum, it turns out that the vacuum comes from behind the throttle plate, so the throttle body doesn't really get clean unless you expose it & clean by hand.

However, a shop I just spoke with which has the BG intake machine, assured me that it would clean the throttle body very well.

So what's the truth here?

What engine? The tb on my 4.2 was relatively easy to rmeove and clean.

2.8. I heard it was difficult to clean; have to actually remove the thing, not just expose it?

Yeah.. I think it's a PITA to do on a 2.8. IIRC, there's a writeup in the tech section..

There is, but the writeup only explains how to expose it. IIRC, you only clean one side that way.

Default If you can get to that point, it should be easy. Just remove everything attached to
the TB and unbolt it (4 allen bolts IIRC.)
