Default Will a DIN size DVD player fit in glove box?

Does anyone know what is behind the glove box? Is it possible to fit a DIN size DVD player in there?

Default my thoughts.

I've taken the glove box out and there is a airbag module (located above the glovebox lock) and the fan for the climate control. Space is at a premium.

As for a DIN DVD player, someone on the allroad forum installed a DIN DVD player without cutting the back off the glovebox (I think?). Search the allroad forum or check Stoney's links for that post.

FYI - I am planning on installing the a DIN DVD player into my A6 Avant...so I'm in the same boat as you. Keep me posted on your progress.

Also, I just acquired 4 black headrests so I can retrofit LCD screens for the rear passengers. I'll probably only need two...so I can sell you the other two..if you like.

Send me an email to: teddybgame@hotmail.com

Good luck

-ted

Default Thanks - Car is in today - I'll let you know how it works out

My kids are young and we really want to place the player in the front of the car where we can reach it. Needless to say, storage space in the front of these cars is at a premium.

Thanks for the headrest offer. I am doing a roof mounted monitor. I got conflicting advice on headrest mounts - some shops would not install them out of fear of liability for messing with a factory designed head restraint.

Default Was told no go with player in glove box

even though exactoroland on the allroad board has it installed. I will have to look to new options like installing a dvd changer in the trunk.

Default Teddy where did you get the headrests? I would like to do ...

...the same with my car but dont want to hack up the factory headrests. I was told by a professional installer that they could only mount the DVD player in the trunk?! (Pain in the A*! if you need to change the disc on a long road trip.)
