Default Wiper arm swap? (2002 Audi A6 Avant)

Hey guys...

Need a hand. I'm new to the car (just picked up an 2002 A6 Avant with 88k on it)

I have been reading about the conversion kits to the aero wiper arm, and have been going nuts with trying to find non-dealer replacements for the wipers.

I tried picking up the trico 47-700 wiper refills, but they don't fit in the wipers I have on the car (the original rubber is part of a 'wing" of rubber that seems to be held in place by the assembly in the middle of the wiper.

Am I doomed to buying dealership OEM wipers? Is there a conversion kit for me (seems like every conversion kit I am seeing is for an A4...)

Help

No need to swap arms.

Go to any Walmart and buy the Michelin wipers (22 inch IIRC). They are a perfect fit.

Get the avant rear window refills. Have to cut to length for avant rear wiper, but they are swapped in directly for my 02S6 and 2K4.2A6.

Check with the dealer, the price may not be that bad.

Yes, my dealer is around $50. I have Amazon Prime, so it's free shipping on these, but I'd buy them anyway. I actually think they are a little better in quality (although who really knows) and I hate giving money to the company who locked me into buying wipers only from them. It feels good to stick it to the man! haha.

I used to use the dealer wipers, and they would miss entire spots on the windshield. It was really strange and I assumed, after a couple sets of wipers, it was some problem with the arms not holding them down enough to create pressure across the entire arm. I swapped them with these and the problem is entirely gone. Saved me from buying new arms and such...

I think the refills using the avant bits are maybe $7 apiece. still ridiculous for a piece of molded rubber that costs maybe $0.05 for materials in China!

Wait a second... the 2002 has a very weird connector.

It is a V-slot with a sliding connector on the top. No one seems to have them.
(Except the dealer)

Which is why I am asking about swapping wiper arms.
