I have the same 03 1.8t as a loaner. Same comments.
Its a little go kart and the steering feel reminds me of my wifes 325 ic BMW. The "gears" arent really gears. Just 6 steps on the cvt to make it seem like gears so the shifts are super smooth and instantaneous and the " ratio" is what I wish the A6 tip had.
But you can see that the CVT couldnt handle the power and torque of a 300 +hp motor.

Both are marketing names.
Tiptronic is Audi's name for their auto/manual.
Multitronic is Audi's name for their CVT.
So, what you get is Multitronic with Tiptronic.
