Xenon color change?

My '98 A6 has bluish-Xenons. I'm seeing some Xenons on the road lately that appear "less-blue" than mine.

Do Xenons gradually changing their colors over time or am I just witnessing a new and improved version?

Different brands seem to have slightly different shades

I've noticed that BMWs seem to be a bit bluer, and also change color depending on viewing angle.

My understanding is that the newer xenons have more of a yellowish tint, versus blue/white. I had to have one of mine replaced, and for a while I drove around with different colors on each side - it looked really tacky. The dealer did find a replacement, so I'm back to all blue/white now.
