2007 S8 or 2010 S6?!
Hey guys,
Like the title says, what would you do if the choices are between these two?
CPO 2007 S8
60k miles
$41k
B&O, CF trim, Navi, Backup cam, etc
VS
CPO 2010 S6
50k miles
$43k
Prestige NAV, CF trim, etc
I'm sure there will be a space to negotiate the price...What do you guys think? How much these should go for and what would you choose? Do you think they have too many miles on them and rather wait for that perfect moment? I know there is no right answer, but I just wanted to get some opinions from you guys.
My wife hates the idea of getting a car when we have a perfectly fine A6 that runs well and still in warranty, but D3 S8 and C6 S6 has been my dream car...She is saying, if YOU must get one, why not go for 2010 S6 instead of 2007 S8 because it's newer...I don't know what to do, but I know once i get one, I'll be set on cars until it breaks down or world runs out of oil.
Thanks for any opinions guys.
*I posted this on both S8 and S6 forum.

Having owned a 2005 C6 A6 3.2 then moved to a 2007 S6, which is basically the same car as the 2010 you are looking at, I recommend the S8.
Even though my S6 had the v10, it's so similar to the regular a6, that I never felt I got a new car.
I sold the s6 a year later and bought a C7 A6 - which felt different for sure!
the s8 is worlds nicer than the s6 in interior amenities.

Yea definitely asking for audi care for sure. I'm not thinking about S8 because it's bigger than S6, but just it's Audi's flagship vehicle and exterior and interior is top notch compare to S6. (I'm not saying S6 doesn't have good exterior and interior) If it was same year with similar price I would've gone for S8 in heart beat, but it's just a tough decision when S6 is newer than S8 that I'm looking at...

Still two very awesome cars...Very hard decision to make...What do you guys think about the fair price for these two?

Totally disagree. Even though S6 and A6 have basically the same body/interior, worlds apart when it comes to performance, driving dynamics. I have a smile on my face every time I fire up the V10, hear the exhaust rumble and go for a spirited drive. A6 is not in the same league/zip code.

For me, I was always underhwlemed with the S6. For a V10 it should be putting out 100 more HP. The intake system in it is very restrictive. It's nose heavy and plows through turns. I truly did not like the S6, it never impressed me which was a huge disappointment that started a week after I bought it. It also wore on me with its 12MPG.
I did have the rear resonators removed and that makes the sound 100x better. No drone, just unbelievable v10 glory. Best $80 I've ever spent.
The 2009-2011 3.0T A6 is as fast as the S6 in stock form. Put a chip in in, and it's no contest. The only thing you don't get is the V10 rumble which is admittedly intoxicating, and the very cool S6 seats. Otherwise you have a similarly equipped car that is lighter and as fast (or faster) with significantly improved MPG. You can get a 2011 in the low $40's. Put a Stasis chip in it, keep the factory warranty and you have a rocket ship that is an absolute blast to drive.
I see no need for the S6, other than it's an S6. Just trying to give my honest opinion since you are looking to drop $40k on a car. Take it or leave it. I'm sure some people think I'm nuts.

Okay, so I found that 2007 S8 is not CPO and they can't make it CPO because it's 2007 model...BUT they can add power train warranty for $1800 for 2 years and 24,000 miles OR Platinum warranty which will cover everything for $3500 for 2 years and 24,000 miles...Hmmmm
