Default 2009.5 Avant 3.0tfsi - 125k Miles - Hesitates During Acceleration and Other Issues...

So I've done a lot of searching and found a few threads addressing possible problems, but wanted to start one to ask a bunch of general questions.
1. I'm aware of the crappy throttle response many of us experience, but this acceleration issue is a bit different. Once underway the car will hesitate (rpm's drop a bit) and then pick up again. It actually feels like the transmission is changing gears, but it's not. I've tried shifting manually and running it in sport mode, but it still happens under throttle. Could this be a fuel delivery issue instead of an actual issue with the transmission? It is intermittent and I still daily drive the beast with no issues, but it is pretty annoying. It feels like the torque converter is engaging and disengaging at odd times.
2. At 125k miles (I've owned her since 94k) are there possible issues with the HPFP and cam follower? Would this cause acceleration issues? Seems to be an easy DIY and may be good preventative maintenance, right?
3. It does take about 2-3 seconds cranking before the engine will start after sitting overnight. When the engine is warm she fires up instantly. I also experience a rough idle from time to time, but not always.
4. She has never thrown a CEL, but I run VAG COM regularly and have found a system lean bank 1 code (cleared months ago and has never returned) and I currently have a very small EVAP leak code. If the HPFP or transmission was having issues wouldn't those components throw codes?? I'm actually to the point where I want a code to be thrown just to point me in the right direction!!
5. I also suspect it could be carbon buildup along with PCV issues...

I adore this car and currently have a goal of getting her to 300k miles with hopes of more. These C6 wagons with the 3.0tfsi are quite rare in North America so it's fun daily driving a unicorn.

i'd do a live scan while under acceleration and monitor the injection timing, TB opening and boost. I am pretty sure the Evap leak does have a negative effect on your acceleration as well. Did you manage to pinpoint it?

I have not been able to locate the EVAP leak. I haven't been too concerned with the small EVAP leak because I didn't think it would have a negative effect on performance, but now I may need to investigate more. I'll post back if I ever figure it out.

Regarding the high pressure fuel pump and cam follower on these 3.0tfsi engines. Has anyone on here addressed these components as preventative maintenance? I know it is a super common issue on the 2.0's, but what about the 3.0?
