Metalhead,
You should definitely replace 6 SC intake gaskets, crankcase breather seals, SC bleeder screws and front coolant crossover pipe 4 bolt and seals.
I believe all you need will be found in the following thread 3.0T thermostat R&R Detailed, manual inc. plus photos and tips
and I recommend you read it all, including JimmiBonnet comments. It’s very tight in A6 and you will need some tools to get there.
Also, see this thread https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a6-...-3-0t-2897772/
Good luck!

Why should the crossover pipe be replaced?
Anybody have parts numbers for these?

I have this same leak on my 08 4.2, it first happened when the Thermostat went bad and got stuck open. I've yet to replace it though.

You don’t need to replace crossover pipe, but in order to remove the thermostat you have to loosen it. In short, remove two bolts on the passenger side, one small screw on the center and just loosen two bolts on the driver side. You will have enough room to replace t-stat. There are gaskets on each ending of crossover pipe, and it would be good occasion to replace them as they are areas of future leaks. The same with rusted bolts. Will find PN later.

Ok, here is the link to ECS
https://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-C6_A6...olant_Flanges/

Having endoscope you can inspect proactively flange areas for possible leaks, it will help you with decision regarding o-rings replacement.

You welcome.
BTW, have you fixed the other leak from the front side of SC?

Just a follow up on this:

The culprit in this was part 06e121065n, a plastic pipe that runs from the thermostat to the rear of the engine.
Got both water pump and thermostat changed at the same time as I had I already ordered them before.

You nailed it! First time see someone replacing that particular part, was it fractured or something else?
BTW, what oil consumption your car has? I’m asking because very close sits PCV malfunctioning in early 3.0T.
As our A6 stabilized at 600 miles/quart it’s annoying and my plan is to replace it soon.
