3.2 A6 Lease -- Seems pretty steep
I've been talking with my dealer (I'm on my second A4) about jumping up to a 3.2 A6 with the following packages:
Sunroof Package
Premium Package
Technology Package w/ Sirius
S-Line Package w/ All Seasons
36 month / 15k per year for a 2006
He quoted me at $751.65 plus tax and that's with the $1k loyalty rolled in. 51% residual w/ a .00076 money factor.
Doesn't exactly seem like a good deal, does it?

Working backwards it sounds like the car you want has an MSRP of around $53K - invoice - $48.7.
Most folks are getting them for around $50.6. So let's use that as our baselines, shall we?
The residual is based on the MSRP (residuals are always lower near model year end btw), and I factored the $1K of loyalty cash as all you are putting down. With a capitalized cost of $50.6K - $1K, you are at $49.6K.
The money factor your dealer quoted is around the equal of 1.82% interest. Based on th above numbers, your payment should be at $684 before tax. Since the payment goes up by around $24 per every $1000 in price, it sounds like your dealer is quoting you at MSRP - which is how they arrived at that payment number.
Since it's year end, I would say that they should be a little more motivated to move the car - unless inventory is very tight and they know cars are going to be held at port for a long time - which is not unheard of.

lease calculator.

Re: 3.2 A6 Lease -- Seems pretty steep
My 2005 A6 with an MSRP of $53,286 for 36 months and 45K miles with a $350 acquisition fee, plates and first month's payment and no sec dep was $641 per month (including tax.)
I got it on June 23rd, '05 -- special ordered it and everything. I am happy with my deal.
Cambridge Green Pearl
Amaretto Premium Leather
Premium
Convenience
Cold Weather
18" wheels and tires
Parktronic
Voice
Advanced Key
Sirius
Sat Nav
In armrest Phone cradle
I'd say your deal if it is as mine PLUS Sline, isn't out of this world bad. You might do a few bucks per month better -- and make no mistake, I would at least try.
