A6 C6 Avant - full option dash
Ok, so one could say I should probably have better things to think about, but...
if the A6 C6 Avant does not have the rear window power shade (it only has one that lifts manually right behind the passengers' heads - IF it has one, that is), then what is the empty button slot filled with in a fully-equipped Avant? This question probably also applies to C7, but I'm not sure.

The C6 Avant was only offered with a manual rear sunshade on the tailgate as an option. The power sunshade was available on the sedan as an option. My '06 A6 Avant has just about every option (tech, premium, & cold packages, side & rear sunshades, and adaptive air suspension). Were on the dash is the empty button slot you are asking about?

Great, so can you list all the functions you have on the row of buttons by the hazard lights button? Apart from Parktronic and ESP?

I have two blank spaces (one of each side of the hazard light switch) that may only apply to options for the sedan, or the blanks may only be there for spacing out the Valet and ESP OFF switches. In looking at a 2007 A6 model brochure, these two blanks are still there.

On some pictures of the Sedans I saw a button for opening the trunk, apart from the rear window shade. While the latter is non-existent in Avants, I don't see why the former wouldn't be used, especially that an electric tailgate WAS an option in Avants.

Checking ETKA 7, it lists a switch for the "roller blind" in both of those blanks. So, these blanks only apply to the sedan. The power tailgate switch is located in the lower bin on the driver's door, next to the gas tank cover.

And what does the "Valet" button do? I have a PDC button there (enabling/disabling parktronic)
I can't imagine Audi would actually permit a situation where the blanks cannot be filled with any option. Major disappointment for all the bourgois visiting the Audi reps every weekend with $200.000 in their pockets.

No Valet Here!
Living in the sticks in the Snow Belt in Central NY and seldom venturing to any venues that offer Valet Parking I've never examined the function of the Valet button or key! I'm sure it's covered in detail in the 300 plus page Owners Handbook!

I read somewhere it locks your trunk and/or limits top speed… One of those things you never use but were put on the dash by the manufacturer just for the heck of it.
