Which battery to purchase as replacement for the key fob?

Would this battery works?

That will work. You know you could have just pulled the key apart to look at the battery. Also your 2016 is a C7 platform.

Do you really need a battery already? I put one in my 2011 recently, but it was still working fine and it was not keyless entry like the 2016, but I had the spare battery lying around. I thought the keyless entry/start uses less power, but maybe I'm wrong and it uses more to stay in contact with the car.

The car tells me to replace battery. And the door no longer unlocks when I walk up to the car with key in pocket and place my hand on handle. Probably needs new battery.
